Born in Toronto and raised in Victoria, Alberta Brown began flute studies at the age of eight with Dr. Mary Byrne at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Since that time she has received many awards and scholarships both through the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival, the British Columbia Provincial Festival, and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Alberta is an active musician and enjoys performing. She was a member of the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra and the Sidney Classical Orchestra, and has made many appearances with Vancouver Island based groups including the Peninsula Singers, Via Choralis, and the St. Cecilia Orchestra. Alberta has also performed at many community events and benefits including Mercy Ships and UNICEF. She currently attends the University of Toronto where she studies with Susan Hoeppner.
